Setting Up Seasonal Pricing

Let's dive into seasonal pricing. Inside your Tripworks account you can set up pricing seasons to ensure that you're maximizing your sales during your peak times or providing discounts when maybe you're out of season or you're not as busy during the year.

Right now we're looking at the pricing season setup page underneath the activity section inside an account. Adding a season is super easy. You can just select the button to add season and add a title to your season.

When you've added a title hit create schedule. This will redirect you to the pricing season editor where you can add the details of your date period and even select days of the week in which you want this pricing rule to take place.

Now in our example I've chosen one day Christmas Eve but if this was a month or a couple month period you can certainly choose additional days of the month. When you select add date period it'll ask you if you would like to add a single day or a date period.

Use the date picker to select your date or dates. Once selected you'll hit save. Once you have your season set up you'll want to head back into the activity editor to apply the season and the price rule to the activity.

From within the ticket prices section go ahead and add a new rate sheet. You'll then be redirected to title your rate sheet which we usually like to keep consistent. In our example I'm going to go ahead and title this Christmas Eve.

You'll then see a rate sheet appear in the list. Go ahead and select it. Ensure that you turn your rate sheet to live and you set the priority. The priority field is important because there may be times where your rate sheets overlap so you need to tell the system and specify which rate sheet should be followed in those cases.

Scrolling down you're going to enter in the new price for this period. For example if Christmas Eve is a slower time maybe you do want to lower the prices. For this example we'll set the adult price to ten dollars and the child price to four.

5. Scroll to the top and select criteria. On the first drop -down, you'll want to select the option to limit the time slots on a schedule. You'll then see a second drop -down appear where you're going to select that time period that we just set up as a season.

Continue on adding the settings of your choice and then select save. Switching over to the booking widget, let's take a look at how this would appear to your customers. On the right we can see the calendar is showing the month of December where if we click through, we can see those base rates of $40 and $30.

However, when we select December 24th, we can see those prices drop to match the rate sheet we just set up. That's it! Keep watching to check out how you can view your activity reports and check out the different ways where you can view your peak times versus your slower times.
